Our week

We decided to drive in to Lubbock late Friday night. (Why not? Its only 7 hours.)
I did a rush job on laundry and cleaning and packing.
Max watched Wolfgang shuffle trash around with my cane. The Wump basked in the sun.

Wolf helped me by scattering all my folded laundry and donning Daddy's golf shirt.
Max laughed.
We didn't stay long in Lubbock. Long enough to see my family. My brothers Adam and Alex (why don't I ever get pics of Alex? Darn it!)
My sister Hayley (we think the flesh-colored object in the foreground is my knuckle. If I had Photoshop installed I would edit that out. Sorry)
Hayley's husband Seth and their 1-year-old Jude.
We saw my mom in short bursts and got to see more of her new husband Victor. Wolfgang was intrigued by both of them.
But I was sick. I ended up in the urgent care clinic on Sunday morning. Want to know why?
Shingles.
Who gets shingles? I thought that was a 90-year-old-man disease. Apparently not.
So we drove home on Monday morning. We stopped off at Grammy and Poppi's when we got in and they fed us. Wolfgang did some walking and leaping and praising God to be out of that car.
Then he drank water from a tiny coffee cup.
?
Now we are getting back in the swing of things.
He went to the Doctor (therapist) in his new clothes because apparently they notice that sort of thing. (how cute is my Guggy-Gooster?)
We are doing some more cleaning.
I am working and baby-tending.
Life is good (minus the Shingles)

Thursday

If you'll notice, my last post was on Thursday. This is the day Grammy takes the Wolf to therapy. That means I can open the computer without grubby little fingers pawing at the keys, or jabbing themselves into my eyes (with a little voice saying, "Eye, Mommy. Eye."
Anything to get Mommy back on Mommy-track.

Cathy and Wyatt came over for a while yesterday morning and Wolfgang showed him around his "woom".
They jumped in the Jumpy.

They kicked things around in the living room.

They sat and read books.
But the fun began when Wyatt locked himself and Wolfgang in Wolfgang's room and then proceeded to get his leg stuck between the bed frame and the wall.
When Wyatt began calling for help, I immediately pictured one or both of them hanging out the window by their fingertips.
We couldn't see Wyatt, but we deduced from his cries that he could not get to the door to unlock it. I could see Wolfgang's feet under the door, so I knew he was free. I'm sure the lock never once crossed his mind.
Thankfully apartment bedroom doors are generally thin and unnaturally flexible. This one lived up to its reputation. We were able to bust it open using my hip and a spoon on Cathy's keychain.
By this time Wyatt was tired, I'm sure, of standing on one leg. Wolfgang was sitting on his bed clutching his blankie. He burst into tears upon my entrance. Cathy pried Wyatt loose and he went for the nearest ball with great gusto.
Wolfgang didn't quite get over it until after his nap.

Well, Bummer. Our desktop doesn't work. We got a fabulous new monitor and the computer is kaput......have I ever spelled that before? Is it correct? Too lazy to look it up....

Wolfgang goes with Grammy on Thursdays (thank you Grammy). This afternoon I had a nap and when I woke up, the kickapoo was laying there looking at me.
And grinning a big grin....:)

I then proceeded to clean(ish) the bedroom.
This is how he entertains himself (insert grunting sounds and the occasional snort and giggle)
I love him.
He's the Maxter of Disaxter.

Mobile Uploads

Hi! Its been a long time.
I have approximately 47 million photos on my camera, but our computer is missing a few components, so for now you get "mobile uploads". Fabulous.
We have moved. For the 13th time in our 15 year marriage.
Its an apartment and we both loathe apartments, but I am in love with this one. Its a little ghetto on the outside, but the inside is all mine. It has everything we need. Washer and Dryer. Dishwasher. AC!!!! Fake Pergo! Luxury.
The boys are getting used to it.
Grammy is getting used to not having her boys in the house. They miss her.....
Max is doing a lot of grinning.
The apartment has open space and Wolfgang has TAKEN OFF! He isn't walking better, he's just walking more. You should see his poor little body. Bruised and cut. But he is loving it.
Right now he's trying to master the art of hopping. Hasn't really gotten off the ground yet....
I am working Sundays and some evenings. I rearranged the store and then we had a commercial video shoot.
On Sundays I take Max with me and move him from section to section. Most of the time he just chills out on a fabulous piece of furniture.
I love what I do, even if I'm way too old and tired to do it with obvious, expressive enthusiasm.

Tunnel Vison

My life feels unusually focussed right now. I see other people , other artists, painting and sewing and doing all the things that I usually do. But my painting-sewing-etc supplies are all in storage. And I have a newborn. And a wobbly two-year-old.
I have temporarily succumbed to tunnel vision.
But look at this!
I have a baby head!
Two baby-heads, to be exact.
After all these baby-headless years! I'm 36 and Boom! I have 2 babies.
Maybe I'm too old for this, but man am I overwhelmed with thankfulness for it.
Look at my sweet Max.

Boys!
I live with a bunch of laundry-creating boys!
Soon, our stuff will be out of storage and our life will change again!

He is almost a month old but he stills feels brand spanking new.
Maybe its because I haven't slept in 23 days. Its been one, long, never-ending day.
This photo was taken last week sometime and he already looks completely different. Thats how I know time is passing.
We've had some jealous issues. Or could it be spoiled rotten issues?
:)
Thankfully the Wolf has a lot of supporters to help him get through this rough time of not being THE center of the universe.
The other day I had lunch with Max and Cathy and Wolfgang ran errands and went to the Zoo with Grammy. They ate Cheetos and PB&J's.
They rode the zoo train and the Wolf stood the entire time.
Freedom!

He is also taking sides, sportswise.
(go go go!)

I am

Exhausted.
Useless.
Thirsty.
Overwhelmed.
Sore.
Lord, help this time of healing pass by quickly.
