Today was a good day

It started off with all of us fleeing the house so Randy could defend his dissertation via a conference call at 8 in the morning. Randy wasn't nervous but I didn't sleep at all last night.
10 years of work all riding on 1 phone call........

But he passed. With "flying colors"! Yay! I can't even tell you how happy and proud I am of him. My Dr. Randy! I love him.

In other news....
Wolfgang is now texting.

And he loves to "wok!" on his new blue dog from Grammy.

And we're still winking for the camera....

Just a couple of things....

Its been a busy couple of weeks.
Actually, my days are pretty normal. I tend to the Goo and take a nap (when he does) and do some dishes and wait patiently for dinner to roll around because its my FAVORITE.
But after Wolfgang goes to bed at 8, things get crazy for me. Thats my work/creative time.
I've been working on a few things for The Narnia Estate (.com) in Chicago. The billboard I designed just went up! Yay! So exciting! Its a big one this time. And I'm doing other things like ads and postcards and a big brochure. It will be beautiful when its all done.

Then I've been working at night to come up with some cool headband/scarf designs. This is new territory for me, and I can't sew worth a flip, but Sue (Grammy) has taught me the ins and outs of elastic, so I can at least whip together a prototype (I'm working on designs with a woman who is marketing them. She's got the skills.)And this is Isabella, by the way. My friend Tina's daughter. Isn't she beautiful? She was so great and natural and she has the most fabulous hair ever.
And then, of course, we had the big sonogram day. I have to say that I was convinced it was a girl. I don't know why. It wasn't that I wanted a girl more, I just thought, "its a girl."But it was extremely apparent that this baby is indeed a boy. Max. Wolfgang and Max. I think the names sound good together. :)

The other day Grammy, the Wolf and I drove into Austin to meet the cousins at one of those indoor places full of moon-jumpy thingies. Aside from being an overload of chaotic noise and movement, it was great for the kids. I think Wolfgang fits pretty well in this lineup.
His latest obsession is The Ladder. He begs for it all day long. "Da Laaa!" "Da Laaa!!"We make him wait for Papa to get home.
Just look at this joy. 100% pure joy.

Monday

Today was a trial. Wolfgang was a piece of work all day long. I have no idea what was going on with him, but it was not a fun day.
So it helps when I can put him to bed and look at Grammy's latest batch of pictures. Its good to remind myself that, most of the time, Wolfgang is wonderful.
Here he is winking with the Wump.

The other morning he got sucked into a kids show for all of 30 seconds.
It was fun for me.
Again with the Winking.
I can tell that Grammy took this shot right after coming in from outside. Its so hot and steamy out there that the camera lens (and her glasses) fog up the minute she walks back inside. (Also, Wolf has a flower.....he loves picking flowers....)
He loves his Wumpy
And his balloon pump.....
This is one of my favorite pictures. Grammy and the Goo.
I have to capture this "winking for the camera" phase while I can.

Hayley Melanie

Hayley (my sister) and her husband Seth and baby Jude came and visited us yesterday. Randy had never met the boys before so it was fun. And this is only the second time I've seen them since moving back from Africa.
It was wonderful to see her. We are 11 years apart, so having babies at the same time is really a gift from God. Jude is 9 months old and the sweetest, calmest thing on the planet.
Not quite as wild as the Goo......
(He's touching my ankle!!!!!!!!!)
I can't believe I didn't get a picture of Seth. I have one where he is yawning in the background, but thats about it. We mostly hung out all day. It was nice to be together.

I don't know why Wolfgang has started "winking" for the camera. Here he is winking in his Spidey glasses.
He took a nasty spill this morning, getting a huge puffy bruise on his forehead. Afterwards he chilled out with a book. It was so sweet. He was enthralled.

Georgetown and other things...

Today Cristin came over with her puppies and The Wolf was in puppy heaven. He loves throwing the dog treats.

Yesterday...was that yesterday....?
Yes, it was.....
Yesterday we drove into Georgetown (just outside Austin. Its where Randy grew up) We went to see his Great Uncle Roy and Aunt Barbara. I'd never met them. It was nice. They live in an area completely overrun with deer. Roy said that when he wakes up in the morning he can count 20 baby deer in his backyard.
We went outside and I couldn't pry Wolfgang off the doormat. Nice.
I just let him be.
It was hot hot hot.

In the car, the sun was blazing so I handed Wolfgang his Spidey-glasses. This is how he always wears them. And this is what he does when I say "wink".
He is such a happy Goo. He can be shy and grumpy and all the things that most toddlers occasionally are, but most importantly, he is happy. I love that about him.
